Three museums you might consider adding to your itinerary include the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, Orange County Regional History Center, and the Orlando Museum of Art.
The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art includes some of the most comprehensive collections in the world. You will see 3D architecture art in pottery, jewelry, glass, and paintings by Louis Comfort Tiffany dated from 1848 to 1933. The indoor chapel is designed from the 1893 Columbian Exposition located in Chicago. The galleries feature major collections of American pottery and also provide representations of late 19th and early 20th century paintings from American decorative art and graphics. This museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. It is open on Sundays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Every Monday it is closed and all major holidays.
The Orange County Regional History Center is an amazing historic five story building. It used to be the Orange County Courthouse in the early 1920’s and later restored and used as the museum. It is well known as the best museum in the area. There are so many exhibits in many different styles. This is one of the best places to see cultural attractions that reflect Florida. You will be amazed. Enjoy a guided tour or get a hands on history lesson. There are programs for children which makes this museum perfect for tours. You can use your Go Orlando card for one free admission when you visit this museum on your vacation. The Orange County Regional History Center is open on Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon til 5 p.m. All major holidays it is closed.
When you visit the Orlando Museum of Art you will appreciate the two collections of cultural and architectural art. Visitors from all over the world come to this museum as it is one of the most popular attractions to visit in Orlando. When you first walk in the door you are greeted with the Dale Chihuly’s glass Cobalt & Citron Tower. This amazing piece of art is something you will be drawn to as it glows 20 feet into the skylights in the ceiling. This exhibit is the start of your experience of different adventurous, imaginative, and creative art you will ever see. You can visit collections of African art as well as art from the Southeast.
